Genelle Beverly Ayres (1926-1963)
This was my mother,Genelle Beverly Ayres, taken by The Angels on March 29, 1963 at age 37. Grandmother of Genelle Morris Adams, great-grandmother of Alex and Madeleine. She was a wonderful person. I wish all of you could have known her. At least I had her here on Earth for the first 12 years of my life.

How sweet of you to put my mother’s photos on your site! Actually, her name was Genelle Beverly Ayres. Genelle Morris Adams is one of her great-granddaughters! She had a terrible heart problem all her life because she caught rheumatic fever at age 12. She wasn’t supposed to have any children, because of her weak heart (and this was before there were some of the aids we take for granted now), but she actually refused an abortion that the doctors offered her because they were so concerned about the strain on her heart (this was before abortions were ‘legal’ and were only offered if the doctors felt there was an endangerment to the mother’s health).
My mom made great sacrifices so that I could be a musician when I grew up, and I’ve always wanted to be a New York musician, and here I am. (Sherrie Morris)
