Former founding member of the Hispanic Women’s League in Buffalo, NY and creator of its logo in the early eighties when she was a Professor in the American Studies Program at the University of Buffalo, pioneering its first Latin and Third World Women’s Studies courses, Ana Maria Hidalgo resides in Chile where she returned after completing her studies in the United States. She is a Professor of Design at Universidad Arcis in Santiago, Chile. She is the mother of Amalia and Amado and is a grandmother.
